Advantages of Gas Engines

It used to be that when deciding between gas and diesel engines, one would always side with diesel. The decision is not always as black and white nowadays however, as new technologies including working on turbocharged engines and better compression ratios provide many gasoline powered engines with some of the same benefits that many diesel powered engines have, and efficiencies that many be better in some cases. 

Some gasoline powered, spark-ignited friends are claiming that their specially formulated gas powered engines are achieving greater thermal efficiency than a diesel engine could ever hope to. 

The New Gas Era

Diesel engines may always have a slight one up on the gasoline engine, but gasoline engines are working on closing the gap between diesel and gasoline. Gasoline engines are currently being offered and developed with more torque and power.

Gasoline is still among the cheapest fuel, even if the cost of gas is rising. It is still therefore one of the more affordable types of fuel to put into a vehicle. Gas, or petrol, offers a higher energy density, so it allows a car to travel further for a longer period of time than other forms of fuel or energy, making gasoline one of the more efficient fuels of energy.
